A mini-symposium “State-of-the-Art” Management of COPD, co-organized by the Hong Kong Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians (Hong Kong and Macau Chapter) was held successfully on June 14, 2007 at Conrad Hotel.
Nearly a hundred of colleagues attended this evening symposium. It was chaired by Dr Chu Chung Ming (the President of ACCP) and the enlightening and informative talk was delivered by Prof Peter Calverley, the Professor of Respiratory and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Liverpool of UK: a world renowned expert in the Respiratory field. Prof Calverley has expertly and concisely presented the key results of the Biopsy Study, the Torch Study and the Inspire Study in his one hour talk. He then shared his clinical experiences with the audience on some newer drugs on COPD management and concluded that hopefully these advanced drug treatments could help our COPD patients to live better.
