A Glance

The Annual General and Scientific Meeting is a regular and important event of the 2 Chest societies. This year, we are delighted to have respiratory physicians from Mainland China, Thailand and United States (ACCP) to form an international faculty. There were plenty functions before, during and after the scientific meeting. Some of the precious moment was captured for your eyes. The faculty actively participated in the scientific programmes, radiological round, and as judges in the young investigator’s award competition

Young Investigator’s Award

Dr. LAM Bing from University Department of Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital, won the young investigator’s award. His topic of presentation is “Endothelium-dependent Vasodilation is impaired in Obstructive Sleep Apnea and is Reversed by Nasal Continuous Positive Airway Pressure”

Hong Kong Lung Foundation fellows were awarded to 4 members as follows’:

Miss TSANG Wai Yin, Mary, Physiotherapist II, Queen Mary Hospital
Two weeks general exposure to different clinical settings including acute respiratory medicine and surgical lCU at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Centre, Boston, USA.

Dr. Edwin POON, Medical Officer, Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital
Training in Immunotherapy for asthma and allergy at Guy’s King’s and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine, United Kingdom

Dr.TO Kin Wang, Medical Officer, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital
6 months training in Sleep Medicine at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney University, Australia.

Dr. WANG Kwan Ling, Julie, Medical Officer, Queen Mary Hospital
12 months training in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MSc thesis Programme) at University of McGill, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
