Coordinators: Dr TSE Pak Yiu, Dr Francis Lee

This course has been co-organized by Hong Kong Thoracic Society and Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. The theme in 2009 was “Respiratory Infections” and the series of lectures were held from the end of September to October. Under the leadership of Dr. PY Tse, a distinguished panel of speakers had been invited that included Dr. HS Chan, Dr. WC Yu, Dr. CM Tam, Dr. MP Lee, Dr. YC Yeung, Dr. CK Ng, Dr. CM Chu and Dr. Fanny Ko. With the comprehensive topics that included community-acquired pneumonia, antibiotic resistance, tuberculosis, infections of the immunocompromised, atypical pneumonias, upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), unresolved pneumonia and role of respiratory infections in airway diseases, the event was certainly a success with encouraging response.

This is the 3rd year that HKTS & ACCP (HK& Macau Chapter) jointly organize this certificate course with Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. The main theme of the certificate course this year is respiratory tract infections. The course consists of 4 half-day programmes on Saturdays. Although the target audiences are family physicians, respiratory physicians or trainees are also welcome to attend.
