On behalf of the Society, we attended the captioned meeting on August 28 at Environment Protection Department.
Mr Benson Yeung, the Senior Environmental Protection Officer of Environment Protection Department first presented to representatives of various professional institutions the information of the AQO review consultation and followed by an open discussion with us. We have expressed great concern about the adverse effects of poor air quality on our patients’ health, and have strongly urged the Government to aim at a higher standard in this review exercise.
Opinions and suggestions from participants were well received and the government representatives concluded that the issue was complicated and there were lots to follow. They sincerely invited us to give our expertise feedback as far as possible in this consultation.
