The “Spirometry Month” between 14 Oct and 13 Nov 2010 has been an overwhelmingly successful event. The opening ceremony had attracted extensive media attention with subsequent cover reports in numerous newspapers and web media. With the support of more than 80 volunteers from the various hospitals, more than 2800 spirometry examinations have been performed in the promotional truck that toured all over Hong Kong during the month. The meaningful month was concluded by the closing ceremony and public lecture at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

A one-month promotional event will be organized in Hong Kong to promote spirometry between 16 Oct and 13 Nov 2010. It will be hosted by the three local academic Respiratory Societies, which include the Hong Kong Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians (Hong Kong & Macau Chapter) and Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Respirology, together with the Hong Kong Asthma Society.
A specially renovated truck will park at some of the busiest spots in Hong Kong over the eight weekends, where pedestrians would be invited to come forward and perform spirometry there. Educational pamphlets and information sheets would also be distributed. A promotional video on spirometry would be shown both inside and outside the truck. A special Chinese “rap” on spirometry would be propagated to “infotain” the public. It will also move around Hong Kong to invited areas and disseminate the knowledge of spirometry and lung health to schools and special groups such as drivers.
Flanking the event, there will be ceremonies and talks to general practitioners to promote the use of spirometry. Celebrities will be invited to participate some of these events in order to attract media attention.

今年10月14日為第一屆「全球肺功能日」，呼籲市民從肺量關注胸肺健康，以喚起及早診斷胸肺疾病的重要，並提醒空氣污染與吸煙對肺功能的負面影響。
吹遍全城: 肺功能流動測試車來往本港不同地區為市民提供免費肺功能測試，車上設有測試肺功能儀器，透過該等儀器檢測市民的肺功能，且輔以問卷評估測試者的呼吸系統是否有潛在問題。

From Ms Cynthia Chan, Executive Officer (Centre In-charge), The Hong Kong Asthma Society Ltd. cynthiachan@hkasthma.org.hk, www.hkasthma.org.hk 歐洲呼吸學會（European Respiratory Society）及歐洲胸肺基金會（European Lung Foundation）將今年十月十四日定為「全球肺功能日」，並呼籲全球響應。
「香港哮喘會」將聯同「香港胸肺學會」、「美國胸肺學院（港澳分會）」及「香港兒童呼吸病學會」於本年10月14日至11月13日推行「肺要思量 – 吹遍全城大行動」，為市民提供免費肺功能測試，一方面喚起社會人士關注胸肺健康、及早診斷胸肺疾病的重要，並提醒空氣污染與吸煙對肺功能的負面影響。
大會特別改裝了一部名為“肺功能流動測試車”來往本港不同地區，車上設有測試肺功能儀器，透過該等儀器檢測市民的肺功能，且輔以問卷評估測試者的呼吸系統是否有潛在問題。
流動測試車的 “出隊行程”已定, 出隊日子共20日, 詳情請看附件.
1) 平日 (週一至周五) 到訪預約團體及學校
2) 週六及日 (港九新界行人專用區)
現需大量義工人手, 義工類別包括:
- 醫護人員 (每次出隊需3名醫護人員負責操作肺量計及填寫測試記錄)
- 非醫護人員 (每次出隊約需3人, 其中一人為哮喘會職員, 負責派發宣傳單張、派發及收回問卷、量度身高、維持秩序等)
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT (CELKI 職員, 負責支援肺量計操作)
