Dr Fanny WS Ko Vice-President, Hong Kong Thoracic Society
The Hong Kong College of Family Physicians was established in 1977 and the College has made important contribution to the introduction and development of family medicine in Hong Kong. Of course for the College itself and for the patients in Hong Kong — it marks three decades working for better health of people and the Hong Kong community.
The thirtieth anniversary dinner was held on Jan 12, 2008 (Saturday) at the Versailles Ballroom of the Regal Kowloon Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. Representatives from different medical professional societies, different Colleges of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Hospital Authority and the medical schools in Hong Kong attended this joyous occasion.
Dr. CM Chu, Dr Johnny Chan, Dr. Maureen Wong and I attended this memorable event on behalf of the Hong Kong Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians (HK & Macau chapter). The Hong Kong Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians (HK & Macau chapter) has been supportive to the educational activities of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. Like last year, the Hong Kong Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians (HK & Macau chapter) and the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians had co-organized a certificate course on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
