A dinner symposium, “Attaining Asthma Control”, jointly organized by Hong Kong Thoracic Society and American College of Chest Physicians (Hong Kong and Macau Chapter) was held on 9 April 2008 at Ballroom of Sheraton Hotel and Towers. Two world renowned speakers namely Dr Christopher Lai, specialist in Respiratory Medicine of Hong Kong and Kenneth Chapman, Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto, Ontario of Canada had elegantly enlightened the audience on asthma management. The symposium was well received by over 280 healthcare professionals. Dr Lai shared the latest Asthma Insights and Reality in Asia-Pacific (AIRIAP) study results with the audiences. Prof Chapman demonstrated the benefits of fixed-dose asthma therapy vs. flexible dose. The symposium ended with an interactive “Q & A” session between the two speakers, chairman and the audience.
