A dinner party hosted by the two chest societies was held on the 23rd June 2003, which happened to be the important date for Hong Kong being removed from the list of SARS-infected areas by the World Health Organization. Apart from the core members of the 2 societies, members from the various pharmaceutical companies were also invited to the party. During the meeting, good news about the coming Asian-Pacific Society of Respirology (APSR) Congress 2004 to be held in Hong Kong was announced and the organizing committee was formed.
