With the support from the Hong Kong Lung Foundation, the Hong Kong Thoracic Society and the American College of Chest Physicians (Hong Kong and Macau Chapter) jointly organized the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), which was successfully held in March this year at the Marriot Hotel of Hong Kong.
More than 400 participants attended this one-day meeting on the 30th March. Similar to previous years, this meeting was packed with exciting presentations delivered by prominent expert speakers, both locally and from overseas.
The ASM began with a symposium of \u201cClinical Updates\u201d. It was followed by a concurrent programme consisting of \u201cFree Paper Presentation of Dr William Chen\u2019s Young Investigator\u2019s Award\u201d together with an allied-health symposium on \u201cRespiratory Issues in Air-travelling\u201d and \u201cAeromedical retrieval and transport\u201d, and both were well attended by the audience. It was then immediately followed by the \u201cICU Symposium\u201d.
After the lunch symposium on \u201cA New Paradigm for using Combination Therapy in Asthma\u201d given by a well renowned expert from Canada, Professor Malcolm Sears, we had an afternoon session of \u201cAsthma Symposium\u201d. The ASM ended with a symposium on a very popular topic on \u201cUpdate on Vaccine Development\u201d which was held in response to a growing awareness on its importance in public health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
